From the Farm:

Nut Butter Made Simple

Label readers know that entirely too many seemingly natural products have been stuffed with processed ingredients. These added ingredients may be an easy way out for making nut butters sweeter, smoother, or last longer on shelf, but we at Nature Nate’s Honey Co. know there’s a better way and the better way is to choose real.

The facts: So, what’s in Nature Nate’s Honey Almond or Peanut Butter?

  1. Peanuts or almonds
  2. Raw & Unfiltered honey
  3. Palm oil
  4. Sea salt

That’s it.

Four modest ingredients combined to create a natural melody of tastes that take your classic pantry staples to a new level. We’re going back to the basics, only using real ingredients so you can feel good about what you’re feeding your family.

We don’t sacrifice all-natural and quality

Choosing real is not always picture perfect. We don’t give up quality for longer shelf life and smooth spreadability like the processed, jam-packed-ingredient-list options out there do. Almond and peanut solids separate from their oils when ground, while honey naturally attracts moisture, drying out a portion of this oil. The result is sometimes a nut butter that doesn’t flawlessly spread on soft bread, but tastes good enough to eat straight from the jar with a spoon! We did some research and are excited to share a few pointers for keeping your peanut and almond butter ready to scoop or spread.

3 tips to getting the most from every jar!

  1. Keep at room temperature.
Real honey crystallises in cooler temperatures, so spreadability will be easier if you don’t put it in the fridge. Try the pantry, or better yet, on the counter so you can eat it all the time! Trust us, you’re going to want to.
  2. Store upside down and give it a good stir before each use.
The oils will gravitate to the lid of the jar, making them easy to combine with the natural nutty goodness throughout with a good stir.
  3. Use as an ingredient in your favourite treat.
If you get to the bottom and find there’s no oil left to stir, add a spoonful to something warm or use as an ingredient in a recipe to make your favourite snacks even more delicious. (Check out this idea for using the Honey Almond Butter in a recipe).

What other tips do you have to share?

  • Stirred into hot chocolate

  • Homemade granola bars (that are actually yummy)
  • Baked into favourite cookies
