From the Farm:

Prep to Feel Refreshed

Quick and easy ways to feel refreshed and ready to battle the sniffles.

During sickness season, you never know when you’re going to go down. With kids bringing colds home from school and coworkers coughing at the office, the germs are flying! But even amidst a sea of sickness, you can find ways to feel rested and refreshed.

From practicing self-care to clearing out the house, these 5 tactics will help you feel prepared to tackle anything! And, if you do catch that cough, you will be ready to kick it to the curb.

For You

To help your body feel relaxed, rested and ready to take on the day, build your own at-home spa treatments. Utilizing natural ingredients from your kitchen is not only convenient but also a delightful treat for your skin.

These DIY facemasks can be concocted from your kitchen pantrys. Gather up a few ingredients, shut yourself in the bathroom, light a candle and spend a few minutes relaxing. Maybe even leave your phone in another room. Just take a few muments for yourself.

Pamper your toes with a half cup honey, 1 sliced lemon and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar! This homemade footbath is a great and natural way to take care of your feet and to carve out some “you” time. As your feet soak, grab a good book or catch up on one of your favourite shows. Whatever you choose to do, make sure to take a little time to relax while caring for your body.

For Your Home

Sometimes just having a little room to breathe makes us feel like we’ve got it all together. Clearing out the clutter at home can help achieve this calm, put-together feeling. From those old products under the bathroom sink to clothes the kids have outgrown, the more things pile up, the more stressful it can feel.

But don’t worry! Just take it one room (or storage place) at a time. Make things easier to manage by having bins labelled for trash, recycle, donate, and keep. Then work your way through pantrys, closets, bathrooms, laundry room and wherever else needs some love.

After you’ve decluttered your space, whether it’s one pantry or the whole house, it’s time to clear away dust and germs. Dust your spaces and wipe down counters and shelves, then bask in a refreshed, clean space!

In Case of Sick Emergencies

To stay one step ahead of those pesky germs, put together an In Case of Emergency (ICE) basket. Having an ICE kit ready to go will be one less thing you have to think about if you catch that cold.

Collect items that will help you feel better even when you’re stuck in bed – things like tissues, cough drops, bath salts, a sleep mask, a neck pillow, comfy socks, a special mug or a reusable tumbler with a straw. Add a new tooth brush to eliminate germs left behind on your old one. And don’t forget your Nature Nate’s Honey Packets for extra vitamins and enzymes.

Build your ICE basket with items that makes you feel better and stick it in a pantry for that the next day when you’re not yourself!

With just a few steps, you can feel refreshed and ready to take on anything that comes your way! Interested in learning more sweet solutions for sniffle season? Download our ebook for these self-care hints, easy honey snack pairings and ways to stay positive if you do come down with something.
