Honey Facts:

Why It’s So Important to Know Where Your Honey Comes From

There’s something special about visiting a farmer’s market, picking your own fruit or planting a vegetable garden at home—you know exactly where your food comes from. The same thing goes for honey. Local and backyard beekeepers know exactly where their honey comes from.

For some of us, it’s not feasible to get our veggies and honey from our neighbors, and as much as we love backyard beekeepers, they don’t have the capacity to produce enough honey year-round. Nature Nate’s provides a solution to have the best of both worlds: we partner with multiple beekeepers across North America. That way, you can have raw and unfiltered honey when you want it and from quality beekeepers we’ve put our stamp behind.

Our Beekeepers Are the Best

Even though our beekeeping partners aren’t in our backyard, we trust them to maintain our high honey standards. We comb North America to find the very best beekeepers that share our values. Focusing on purity of honey and bee health, we provide honey testing so they can ensure it does not contain pesticides, herbicides or antibiotics. Teaming up with beekeepers who believe in protecting bees and producing unadulterated, 100% pure honey is one of the biggest ways Nature Nate’s Honey Co. can make a positive impact.

We’ve been working with many of our beekeepers for years and have developed great, trusting relationships with them. We know their honey is top-quality. Because of our incredible beekeepers, we can provide you with farmer’s market quality honey year round!

We Test It to Ensure the Quality

Once our beekeepers’ honey arrives at our bottling facility, we test, test, test. We check the honey for the absence of the most commonly used herbicides, pesticides and antibiotics. Our Quality Assurance team also tests the honey in-house for the colour, moisture, acidity and gluten. The honey is sent to an external facility to check pollen, sugar, acidity and lead. This is important for crafting our consistent blend and in knowing where our honey comes from. We want to make sure only the best honey makes its way into a Nature Nate’s bottle.

Not All Honey Is Created Equal

We also know that you don’t want to trudge all over creation to get all your family’s food for the week. You’ll find Nature Nate’s Raw & Unfiltered Honey right there on the shelf at the same place you get the rest of your groceries in the PB&J aisle. Remember that not everything labelled honey is 100% pure. Be sure you know where your honey comes from and that it’s actually from bees, isn’t adulterated, and has been tested for pesticides, herbicides, and antibiotics.

Nature Nate’s honey is always raw and unfiltered. That means our honey is pure honey. Our testing makes sure of it. That also means that our honey is never overheated, which kills naturally occurring enzymes and benefits of honey. We simply warm our honey so that it’s pourable. We gently strain our honey to make sure there aren’t any chunks of wax or bee parts sticking around. The result is pure, raw, natural honey!
